The campaign, Secret Life of Us, is responding to an alarming survey which revealed that 97% of parents with a disabled child say the public do not understand the challenges they face.

Steve McCabe MP is supporting this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, a campaign run by the charity The Reading Agency. 
 
This year the theme is Animal Agents and children are encouraged to borrow and read books in order to help a detective agency of fury friends solve a mystery. To get involved in the Summer Reading Challenge all you need to do is take your child to your local library where they will receive an Animal Agents collector pack and can borrow a variety of exciting books.

Birmingham City Council claims their proposals to radically reform Early Years Services will greatly improve the provision of services but the detailed plans reveal a number of Children’s Centres have been earmarked for closure.

Steve McCabe MP (Birmingham Selly Oak), Jack Dromey MP (Birmingham Erdington) and Richard Burden MP (Birmingham Northfield) are requesting an urgent meeting with the Council’s Chief Executive Stella Manzie to discuss the proposals.
