This year the theme is Animal Agents and children are encouraged to borrow and read books in order to help a detective agency of fury friends solve a mystery. Birmingham City Council claims their proposals to radically reform Early Years Services will greatly improve the provision of services but the detailed plans reveal a number of Children’s Centres have been earmarked for closure.

Steve McCabe MP (Birmingham Selly Oak), Jack Dromey MP (Birmingham Erdington) and Richard Burden MP (Birmingham Northfield) are requesting an urgent meeting with the Council’s Chief Executive Stella Manzie to discuss the proposals.

The Queen delivered her speech in the House of Lords with a heavy emphasis on Brexit, outlining 8 Bills including the Repeal Bill which will repeal the European Communities Act 1972.

Other measures announced included an Automated and electric Vehicles Bill, HS2 Bill to extend High Speed Rail from Birmingham to Crewe and a draft Tenant’s Fee’s Bill, a Labour policy that prevents landlords and estate agents from charging big fees to tenants.
