Council’s branch of common sense

I've hit out at Birmingham City Council after it told two residents that they could down a neighbour’s overhanging branches, just so long as the dead branches were returned to the owner.

A senior council official stated in a letter to me that:
‘…I understand that the Council would only cut down overhanging trees if they were causing danger or damage to a property. If this is not the case then the owner of number 116 does have the legal right to cut down any overhanging branches providing these are given back to the neighbouring property.’

This is utterly ridiculous and defies all common sense. Why should someone else have to cut down nuisance branches and why on earth would anyone want those dead branches back?

This is typical of the council’s ‘Pass the Buck’ attitude, and this time they’ve shown that they even pass the buck to their own council tax paying citizens.Insert the content here...
