Honouring our veterans

With local veterans

I have launched a campaign to honour the wartime sacrifices of local Veterans in the run up to Veterans Day on 27th June.

I am encouraging local Veterans, including Bevan boys and Landgirls to come forward and share their stories with local sixth formers who will write up the memories and publish them in a book. The book will then be distributed amongst local schools.

I have already found a number of Veterans, Land girls and Bevan Boys in my constituency but I'm asking for any willing veterans to get in contact.

We have an enormous amount to thank our local veterans for. They made sacrifices that we can only imagine. As the years go by it becomes ever more difficult for young people to put themselves in the shoes of previous generations and I hope this project will help bridge that divide.

This campaign will enable us as a community to thank our veterans for what they did and keep their memories alive so that we never forget the sacrifices which they made.

If you have a story which you are willing to share I would ask you to call my office on 0121 443 3878 or write to me at the House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA".
