Selly Oak Samaritan leaves cash on MP's doorstep - which charity should it go to?

Steve is calling on constituents to help decide which charities should benefit from cash left on his doorstep by a Selly Oak samaritan.

He woke recently to discover six plastic bags full of pennies on his doorstep, accompanied by a handwritten note in which the nameless samaritan wrote “for the poor”. The donated bounty totals over £400.

The MP immediately informed the local police superintendent- Chief Superintendent Phil Kay who advised that as there was no way of tracing the benefactor it was ok to donate the cash to charity.

“When you leave the house to go to work the last thing you expect to see is a large charitable donation” laughs Steve. “In all seriousness however, I would like to say a huge thank you to the mystery donor and reassure him or her that this money will make a huge difference to a local charity.

Mr. McCabe is now calling on constituents for suggestions as to which charities or causes should benefit from the cash. Anyone who wishes to make a suggestion should fill in the form below with their suggestion.
