Steve Questions Policing Budget Cuts.

Steve has questioned the use of private security contractors by West Midlands Police to assist with

West Midlands Police used around 10 staff from the private security company G4S to assist with the filing of electronic material from a counter-terrorism operation last December. The operation led to 9 people being charged with terrorism offences.
Steve will hope to question the Home Secretary on this matter in the House of Commons on the 12th of September.
Steve said:
“The use of agency staff as part of counter- terror operations shows the damage that the Conservative-Liberal Democrat Government is doing to the police by making 20% cuts to the policing budget.
“Undermining the police in this way is a matter of serious concern. I am regularly contacted by my constituents who express unease at the way that the Government is destabilising the police from carrying out important work on our behalf.
“I hope that the Conservative-led Government will reconsider their cuts of 20% to policing in the light of these facts”
