Steve checks out Stirchley Community Market

Steve went along to the monthly Stirchley Community Market to catch up with traders and to see what was on offer.

While Steve was there he bumped into Craig and Steve who work for Frost & Snow Cupcake Bakery, a successful social enterprise set up by the Midland Heart homeless team and cupcake baker Sarah Frost.

Frost & Snow aims to create training and job opportunities for people who have been homeless and now want to get into employment but need training and work experience. Steve also caught up with local organic baker Tom Baker, Stirchley Wines & Spirits, Wolsey Sausage Company and Stirchley Happenings as well as many others.

Steve said: “It was great to bump into Craig and Steve from Frost&Snow, I met them back in November and it is great to see their enterprise is going from strength to strength.

“It was also nice to see some of the Stirchley Market regulars, the market is a great mix of food, arts and crafts and much more. Whenever I get the chance to go to the market I am always impressed by the community spirit and enthusiasm of traders and visitors about the future of Stirchley. It is groups like this that really will make a difference to the future of Stirchley Village.”

Stirchley Community Market is held at Stirchley United Working Men’s Club, Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham B30 2PP the first Tuesday of every month. For more information on Frost & Snow please visit
