Steve met with staff, parents and pupils of Woodthorpe J and I School last week to congratulate them all on their ‘outstanding’ grade from OFSTED.

Steve visited staff, parents and pupils at Woodthorpe Junior and Infant School last week; to congratulate everyone on receiving an overall grade of ‘outstanding’ following a surprise two day visit from OFSTED.

In his report, OFSTED lead inspector Clive Lewis concluded that Woodthorpe J and I teachers “provide an outstanding education” through “an excellent curriculum”. Mr Lewis also played tribute to Headteacher Helen Brigham’s “thoughtful and inspirational leadership”.

According to OFSTED’s own classification system, Woodthorpe J and I is within the top 8% of primary schools nationally.

Steve said “It is excellent news to hear that Woodthorpe Junior and Infant School received such a glowing report from OFSTED.

“Despite a set of tough new guidelines coming into force this year, Woodthorpe continued its run of excellent results.

“Staff and parents should be congratulated on their hard work and dedication. I wish them all the best for the future”.
