Steve talks horses with William Hill staff on Grand National Day

Steve talked to staff and customers at his local William Hill on Grand National Day last week.

Steve met with Vince Bateson, Head of Retail Gaming for William Hill and staff members Ben and Rita for a tour of his local branch on Alcester Road South.

Steve also got the chance to place a bet on a horse of his choice. Unfortunately Steve’s horse didn’t pass the post first, but William Hill was kind enough to donate £50 to Steve’s chosen charity, Acorns Childrens Hospice.

Steve said “I doubt I could pick a winning horse to save my life but I was happy to take part in this event for charity.

“The staff and customers at William Hill were really friendly and helpful (the photograph was taken by a punter) despite it being such a busy day for them.

“I know that people have different views on the gaming industry but I think it's about the responsibility of the industry and the individual and I am very mindful of how many people are employed in the industry and how much tax it contributes to the Exchequer.”
