‘Save money on your energy bills’ advice day - hosted by Steve McCabe MP

Friday 12th October 2012

The Hub (Hazelwell), 318 Vicarage Road, Kings Heath, B14 7NH

Drop in anytime from 11am – 3.30pm

SSE, Britain’s second largest energy company, recently announced that their customer’s energy bills will increase by 9% from October. The average cost of a dual fuel bill will increase by £100 to £1,274. I am concerned that many people will struggle to pay their energy bills this winter. For some, it may even be a choice between heating and eating.

With this in mind, I have decided to host a workshop to offer constituents advice on how to stay warm and save money on their energy bills this winter. I’ve invited energy providers; independent experts; campaign groups; housing associations; and charities to come and offer you tips on saving energy and money.

You may like to bring your latest bill along and ask a customer advisor from your energy provider what it all means. You may discover that there are alternative tariffs or payment plans available to you that will save you money. Ask independent experts from comparison sites how switching your energy supplier could save you money; and discuss with your housing association how making your home more energy efficient can help reduce your energy bills.

Refreshments will be provided.

If you’d like to attend, or would like further information about the event, please contact my office on 0121 443 3878, e-mail me at steve@stevemccabe.me.uk or write to me at Steve McCabe MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.

I hope to see you there.

Best wishes,

Steve McCabe MP
