Steve congratulates the Brandwood Centre on re-launch

Steve, Cllr Mike Leddy, and Rosemary Randall, Chair, helped mark the official re-launch of the Brandwood Centre.

Steve attended the re-launch of the Brandwood Centre, which was recently refurbished after securing funding from Birmingham City Council Community Chest.

Patricia Watson, Centre Manager, spoke to guests about the refurbishment and how it will improve service to users. Pat also told guests about Big Lottery Funding the centre has recently secured which will develop their ‘Train to Gain’ project which helps the long-term unemployed and single parents gain the skills and training necessary to apply for and secure a job.

Steve said:

“I have been an MP covering the Brandwood Ward since 1997 and I have worked closely with the Brandwood Centre over the years, it is really great to see how the centre has evolved over the years.

It offers a really diverse range of advice, support and recreational services for our local community. I was really impressed with the art class which is attracting a lot of local talent.

“Big congratulations should be given to Pat and Jill at the Brandwood Centre who have worked tirelessly over the years to create a place that not only offers great services but also a place that brings the local community together.”
