Steve backs 'Ask your pharmacist' campaign

Selly Oak MP Steve McCabe has backed a national campaign to encourage people to use their local pharmacy by visiting King's Pharmacy on the Pershore Road South in his constituency.

The campaign aims to highlight services under used services that are frequently available at local pharmacies. Free services include health checks, Medicine Use Reviews, minor ailment advice and smoking cessation services. Private services include allergy screening and Chlamydia testing and treatment.

Steve McCabe MP said:

“Community pharmacists are highly skilled healthcare professionals who are already taking a load off GPs and A&E departments. Everyday 1.8 million people visit a pharmacy but it is thought that we could save £380 million per year if more people visited a pharmacy instead of their GP for minor ailments.”

A free service which will tell you where your local pharmacy is and what services it offers is available here.
