Steve urges constituents to ‘switch together’ to save money on energy bills

Steve is urging constituents to sign up to Birmingham and Solihull Together’s collective switching scheme, a government-backed initiative to help local people save money on their energy bills by switching energy supplier as a group.

As part of the scheme, Steve will be visiting Pineapple Close in Brandwood on Thursday 14 March to talk to residents and encourage them to sign up before the deadline on Sunday (17 March 2013).

Once the deadline has passed, Birmingham and Solihull Together will sign up everyone to the energy supplier who offers customers the best deal. A similar scheme in Cornwall resulted in an average saving of £133.

Steve said:

“With the cost of energy increasing this year, I’m eager to help as many people save money on their bills as I can.”
