Tesco Reveals Updated Plans for Stirchley

Tesco will be displaying its proposals at Stirchley Community Church on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 April

Almost a decade after it first obtained planning permission to redevelop the Hazelwell Lane site in Stirchley, Tesco is revealing updated plans to the local community. The scheme will deliver a new superstore, unit shops, apartments, public spaces, highway improvements and will create in the excess of 300 new jobs.

Tesco will be displaying its proposals at Stirchley Community Church on the following days:

Friday 5 April 3-7pm

Saturday 6 April 10am-3pm

People are welcome to call in and view the plans, meet the project team and feedback comments.

After the two day consultation, all of the comments that Tesco receives will be considered and taken into account when the scheme is finalised ahead of a planning application being made to Birmingham City Council this Spring.  If the plans are approved, construction will begin in 2015.

Steve McCabe said:

“It is really important for the local community to have their say so we get a store that people want, so I would encourage everyone is is available to go down to Stirchley Community Church and have a look at the new proposals.”
