Steve McCabe MP cheers on Sainsbury’s fundraising efforts for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

Steve joined Sainsbury’s staff at their Maypole store to raise funds and awareness for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Sainsbury’s Maypole staff and customers have voted the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as their chosen local charity of the year and they hope to raise £10,000 for the charity over the next year.

The Midlands Air Ambulance charity is one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK and since 1991 the charity has completed more than 38,000 missions. Each mission costs £2,500 and the Ambulance can be called out up to 10 times a day.

Steve said:

“It was great to join staff at Sainsbury’s Maypole to support the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, this is a worthy charity that literally saves lives every day.

“The Charity doesn’t receive any Government funding so has to raise all its cash from donations, events and with help from businesses like Sainsbury’s. With running costs of up to £25,000 per day Midlands Air Ambulance Charity need all the help they can get, I wish Sainsbury’s Maypole the best of luck in raising money for this excellent charity.”
