Steve McCabe MP congratulates Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club on Sport England funding

Kings Heath Cricket Club, situated on Alcester Road South, has received the exciting news they will be receiving £35,000 of funding from Sport England as part of their Inspired Facilities Olympic and Paralympic Legacy fund.


Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club will use the funding to refurbish the squash courts on site which were built some 30 years ago. The funding will help a major refurbishment of the changing facilities and other essential repairs to the walls, floors and roof.


Another 320 sports projects across the country will also be celebrating winning a share of £16,255,446 which will help bring big improvements to local facilities, from new playing surfaces to floodlights and better changing rooms.


Steve McCabe, local MP, said:

“I’m delighted to learn that Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club via Sport England’s Inspired Facilities funding have secured £35,500 towards the refurbishment of the squash courts at their Club.  This will enable the Club to continue to provide some first class facilities for the local community to par-take in sport in the Kings Heath area.”

Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club President Paul Ingleston, said:

 “We are all extremely delighted to secure this funding from Sport England to assist us in improving our facilities and this will also enable us to increase our squash section membership for the local community. This has been secured thanks to a lot of hard work put in by our board and a special thanks in particular Bill Voisey of our squash section committee.”
