Steve McCabe MP is calling on his constituents to shop local this Small Business Saturday 6 December and support our high streets.

There are lots of things happening around Selly Oak Constituency this weekend, first we have the Stirchley Christmas Lights Switch on Friday 5th December on Stirchley High Street and there will be discounts on offer from local businesses on Saturday!

The Lifford Business Association is leading the way in Cotteridge this Small Business Saturday and are promoting discounts in local shops as well the Christmas Lights Switch on in Cotteridge at 4pm!

There are lots of discounts to be had only available on Small Business Saturday so don’t forget to pop down to support your local high street!

Last year, Britain’s first Small Business Saturday gave a boost to local shops through extra trade of nearly £500m of additional spending with small firms on the day.

Steve McCabe MP is backing local businesses to take advantage of the campaign on a key shopping day in the year in the run-up to Christmas and encouraging local people to shop locally in small firms as part of Small Business Saturday. The day aims to give a long-term boost to trade and give a lift to the high streets.

Steve McCabe MP said:

“Small Business Saturday is a great initiative and was a huge success last year driving nearly £500 million more trade to small businesses. This year I am heading down to Cotteridge to join the Lifford Business Association and local businesses at their Christmas Lights Switch on.

“It is really important we support local businesses and our local high streets, without them our communities would just not be the same.”
