Steve McCabe MP encourages local people to apply for Royal Mail apprenticeship scheme

Steve McCabe MP has welcomed the Royal Mail’s announcement that their apprenticeship scheme is open for applications in Birmingham and is encouraging his constituents to apply.

Steve held a Jobs Fair in his constituency just before Christmas which had a number of large employers including the Royal Mail who spoke to local people about job and apprenticeship opportunities. Steve’s Jobs Fair attracted interest from over 250 local people who were very interested in working for the company. Steve is delighted with this week’s announcement and is encouraging those who came to his Jobs Fair and other local people looking for work to apply for a place on the apprenticeship scheme.

Royal Mail’s apprenticeship scheme is now open for applications between now and 26 April 2015 and they are looking for: Advanced Engineering Apprentices; Fleet Advanced Vehicle Apprentices, and Project Management Higher Apprentices.

Steve McCabe MP said:

“’I am very pleased that that the Royal Mail have announced they are looking for apprentices here in Birmingham. Unemployment in my constituency is way above the national average and as the local MP, jobs have always been one of my top priorities. I think that this presents a fantastic opportunity for local people and I’m encouraging my constituents to apply.”
