Steve McCabe MP gets active with friends of Cotteridge Park

On Thursday 20 August, Steve McCabe MP joined local residents for group walking and tai chi sessions at Cotteridge Park, Birmingham.

The sessions were part of ParkLives, a programme which is being delivered by Active Parks Birmingham in partnership with Coca-Cola Great Britain – offering hundreds of free, fun activities across 31 community parks in Birmingham. The sessions, which are typically an hour long, are all led by a trained activity leader.

Steve McCabe MP said:

“It’s fantastic to see investment in our local parks and for these areas to be actively used for free activities that the whole community can enjoy. The sessions gave me a chance to catch up with my constituents in the great outdoors and appreciate one of the many green spaces in Birmingham. Friends of Cotteridge Park do a great job in working with different organisations and projects, such as ParkLives, to make sure the local community benefits from the area.”

Other free activities at Cotteridge Park include Nordic Walking, Zumba, Couch to 5K and Free Family Fun.

A full timetable – including a postcode park finder – can be found at www.parklives.com where people can also register and book to save a space.
