Selly Park North Flood Prevention Scheme, meeting with Environment Agency– Thursday 8 September at 6pm

Following the devastating floods in Selly Park in June, Steve McCabe MP has arranged for the Environment Agency to meet with local residents to discuss the proposed flood prevention scheme before it is heard at Planning Committee later this month.

Local residents have asked for one last meeting with the Environment Agency to respond to any unanswered questions about the proposed hybrid planning application before a decision is made at Planning Committee.

The proposed scheme by the Environment Agency to deliver a flood protection scheme is expected to protect the flood risk area of Selly Park North which saw many local residents devastated by the heavy rain in June. The scheme is dependent on a hybrid planning application put forward by Calthorpe Estates with the Environment Agency which includes a student accommodation development at the Pebble Mill site off Pershore Road.

Some local residents still have reservations about the scheme which is why Steve has arranged the meeting and is encouraging anyone who has outstanding questions to come along. The Environment Agency plan to explain the modelling works and address any concerns local residents may have.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 8 September at 6pm at Christ Church, 953 Pershore Road, B29 7PS.

All local residents are welcome. To book your place please click here or call Steve’s office on 0121 443 3878 or email steve@stevemccabe.me.uk
