Steve visits Whizz-Kidz

Steve recently visited Whizz-Kidz to give his support to a local scheme which develops young disable

Whizz-Kidz is a charity which aims to get young disabled people mobile. The charity runs ‘Ambassador Clubs’ eight times a year in Selly Oak. These clubs help disabled youngsters develop their independence in a fun and safe environment. This is done through a range of activities including drama, music, sport and healthy living classes.

Steve went along to hear about the work they are doing and a campaign that they are running about the lack of available disabled car parking spaces.

Steve said, “I was delighted to visit and meet these young constituents. These clubs are a great initiative and should broaden the skills and confidence of young disabled people.”

Texas Bishop, who is 15 and attended the club said, “Meeting Steve was a great inspiration for me. We talked about campaigning and he helped us to think about new ideas to raise awareness of the issues we care about. I hope we will keep in touch.”
