After meeting with Managing Director of National Express UK urging him to save the 27 bus, Steve McCabe MP (Birmingham Selly Oak) has welcomed the news that National Express has listened to the concerns he and his constituents raised and has decided not to withdraw the 27 bus route. 
 
The news was confirmed following a meeting Steve had with Tom Stables, Managing Director of National Express UK.

Steve McCabe MP has already tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament calling for more powers to deal with the problem of unauthorised encampments which has blighted parks and open spaces across Birmingham over recent years.

 

The MP is calling on the government to:

 

Steve has been campaigning on the burgeoning issue of childhood tooth decay in Birmingham and has been calling for an early intervention scheme to improve oral health outcomes of children while reducing the financial burden of costly tooth extractions. The announcement of an early intervention scheme being piloted in specific areas in England represents progress, but Steve believes the case for including the West Midlands as part of the pilot scheme has been overlooked by NHS bosses.
