Steve McCabe MP has shown his support for the United Nations International Human Rights Day by calling upon the Government to drop their plans to repeal the Human Rights Act (HRA).

Monday 1st December 2016 marked the 27th anniversary of World AIDS Day, a day where campaigners and people living with HIV from around the world come together in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and commemorate those who have died.

Steve McCabe MP has joined the Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity to take the opportunity to highlight the UK’s growing puppy smuggling problem.

 

This was never going to be an easy decision, I believe MPs should think long and hard before they make such decisions. It was right that Labour MPs were given a free vote because I’ve become convinced that issues of such importance and conscience shouldn’t be subject to normal party discipline.

Steve McCabe MP is backing local independent businesses across his constituency to celebrate their contribution to Selly Oak as part of this year’s Small Business Saturday on December 5th.

Steve McCabe MP for Birmingham, Selly Oak, is supporting international Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week (1-7 December). The week long campaign aims to highlight the impact of living with Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis, the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) which affect more than 300,000 people across the UK.

Steve McCabe MP for Birmingham, Selly Oak has joined campaigners and volunteers from sight loss charity RNIB to try and ensure that everyone diagnosed with sight loss receives practical and emotional support to come to terms with their diagnosis.

The Protection of Family Homes (enforcement and permitted development) 10 Minute Rule Bill will:

-          Require the Department for Communities and Local Government to produce clearer guidance for Planning Authorities on when enforcement action should be taken and local authorities will need to produce an enforcement plan. ‎
