Tackling anti-social behaviour is core business for social landlords as primary investors in neighbourhoods and communities. When asked how much the reorganisation is estimated to cost, Health Minister Simon Burns told Steve it would be between £1.2 billion and £1.3 billion. However, Steve believes this is deliberately misleading.

If you have qualified for Cold Weather Payments since 1st November 2011 and live in Birmingham, you are due to receive a cold weather payment.

Steve recently visited Gordon Franks Training, a successful training agency in Birmingham. Whilst there, he spoke with current students about their training experience and hopes for the future.

The briefing particularly focussed on how to fund adult social care in the future. While it is really good that life expectancy is increasing quality of life still matters and it is important to find an affordable way of ensuring elderly people get the support they need in old age.


The on-going global economic crisis has led many governments to be more cautious with their finances and to look for innovative ways to raise money through taxes and save money through balancing the demands of public spending.

Steve visited the Training facility, based in the West Midlands, accompanied by Managing Director Peter Coates, and Mark Simcox, Head of Training and Recruitment Bus Division

Steve joined charity officials and MPs to launch ‘Be Loud Be Clear’; a campaign aiming to increase public awareness of this disease.
