Steve McCabe MP was perplexed to hear from the Planning Department they will not take enforcement in some cases on unauthorised buildings as they probably would have approved the application anyway.   

Steve McCabe MP was thrilled to present Madison Poolton, winner of his Parliamentary Christmas card competition with a family ticket to watch the rags to riches tale of Dick Whittington at the Hippodrome.  

Steve runs an annual Christmas card competition with local schools and once again was faced with the difficult task of picking a winner out of hundreds of creative and imaginative designs from pupils across Selly Oak constituency.

Steve has urged the DCLG’S Planning Inspectorate to dismiss two appeals that have been put forward by notorious rogue landlord, Britannia Property Group.

From June to August 2016, the number of unemployed people increased. Figures show that UK unemployment increased by 10,000 to 1.66 million in the three months following Brexit whilst the claimant count increased by 11,000.

The West Midlands was highlighted as one of regions in the UK with the highest rate of unemployment at 5.9% compared to 4.9% nationally. The region with the lowest rate of unemployment was the South East at 3.7%.

The Great Birmingham Run will return on Sunday, October 16 and is expected to attract around 20,000 runners who will take on the 13.1mile course starting on Jennens Road and eventually finishing on Broad Street. The Selly Park North Flood Scheme has been approved at Planning Committee, 13 October 2016.

Following the devastating floods in Selly Park in June, Steve McCabe MP has arranged for the Environment Agency to meet with local residents to discuss the proposed flood prevention scheme before it is heard at Planning Committee later this month.

Local residents have asked for one last meeting with the Environment Agency to respond to any unanswered questions about the proposed hybrid planning application before a decision is made at Planning Committee.

Kings Heath’s very own Radhuni was presented with an award from Selly Oak MP, Steve McCabe for being highly commended by the judges of Parliament’s annual Tiffin Cup competition.
